RARE ANTIQUE HITCHCOCK CHAIR SIGN WITH GRIM REAPER FROM NEW ENGLAND AAFA

Sold on eBay

Description

This is a fabulous RARE to find old Hitchcock Chair Company sign.

Please see all pics for more information and close united states of americaof the paint and lettering.

It measures about 32 inches tall with the hangers. It’s about 12 inches wide.

As you’ll see from the pics at the front it says “As we journey through life let us live by the best way. It’s later than ever with each and every passing day.”

The base paint is black and the lettering is gold.

On the back It’s stamped from the Hitchcock Chair Company and says “L. Hitchock. Hitchcocksville. Conn. Warranted.” which is identical stamp they stamped all in their chairs with for the makers mark over time.

I am not sure how old that is nevertheless it surely has a good look to it in case you are an avid collector of Hitchcock items. I don’t believe it is 1700’s or 1800’s but It’s surely not new and I doubt it used to be made in essentially the most latest 50 years so It’s an older one.

It hangs from some hand forged hooks at the sides as you see within the pics.

It’s a nice New England sign to head along with your other early decor.

It isn’t highest as it does have some wear spots where it has been bumped around over time but I left it as I discovered it at a sweet little back road antique shop many years ago. I have at all times collected a wide variety of antique chairs and this fit in with my decor just fabulous.
